A szakmai irányítást 1986-ban a jelenlegi művészeti vezető, Ruppert László vette át, kinek vezetésével két fő irányzatban fejlődött az együttes tevékenysége. Egyik irányzat a Kárpát-medence népi örökségének felkutatását, feldolgozását, és bemutatását végzi. Műsoraival sikerrel szerepelt országszerte és Európa több városában. A csoport munkájának eredményességét számos szakmai díj, elismerés mutatja. Az együttes hosszú pályafutása alatt sok kiváló táncost, oktatót nevelt ki, akik a régió táncéletének meghatározó szereplőivé váltak.
A Kisalföld Táncegyüttes másik irányzata történelmi arculatú: a korabeli európai historikus táncok és az itáliai múltra visszavezethető reneszánszkori zászlóforgatás bemutatása.

Az együttes 1998-ban a Harmónia Művészeti Iskolával együttműködve hozta létre szakmai műhelyét. Az itt tevékenykedő szakemberek az Öveges Kálmán Gyakorló Iskolában és az ásványrárói Somogyi József Általános Iskolában oktatják a néptánc alapjait. A csoport tagjai aktívan vesznek részt továbbképzéseken, nyári táborokban és szólótánc versenyeken.
A fiúk a Fresco Ballo zászlóforgató csoport utánpótlás csoportjában képzik magukat, aktívan részt vesznek a felnőtt csoport fellépésein.

A gyermekcsoportból induló együttes mára a régió élenjáró amatőr csoportjává vált.
Rendszeresen megjelenő műsoraival a Kárpát-medence néptánc kincsét ápolja, mutatja be külhonban és itthon egyaránt.
A táncegyüttes az eredeti táncanyagok táncszínházi keretek között történő feldolgozását tűzte ki célul, így készült el több önálló bemutató az elmúlt években: Transsylvánia Express, Három páros tánc, Rábaközi szokások és táncok, Somogyi szvit, Mihály napi vásár Torockón, A magyar néptánc európai kapcsolatai (tánctípusok a historikus táncok tükrében) címmel.
A hazai bemutatók mellett a rendszeresen jelentkező külföldi turnék teszik teljessé az együttes életét, a magyar kultúra követeként Európa számos országában szerepelt sikerrel.
Az együttes fellépéseinek rendszeres közreműködője Lipics Viola zenekara.
A csoport működését a korábbi fenntartó (Bartók Béla MMK) megszűnése után az együttes tagjaiból szerveződő Győri Népművészeti Egyesület biztosítja

A csoport tagjai táncos alapképzés mellett sajátítják el a reneszánsz kori ügyességi játék, a zászlóforgatás, zászlódobálás elemeit.
